About This Work
“This piece is all about quiet stillness and a study of mirror reflection. The island is in Koshlong Lake in the Haliburton area. Many will know it as the home of the Hamilton/ Burlington YMCA Camp Wanakita.”
Biography
E. Robert Ross has been a full-time landscape artist since 1975, exhibiting primarily in Ontario, with solo exhibitions at the public Art Galleries in Hamilton, Burlington, and Dundas, and is represented by Gallery Gevik, Toronto, and McMaster Fineart, Dundas.
His work is included in many international collections including those of King Charles III, Former Governor General Adrienne Clarkson, and President Bill Clinton.
Large paintings may be viewed in public areas at St Joseph’s, St Peter’s, and Hamilton General Hospitals, McMaster Medical and Juravinski Cancer, and David Braley Health Science Centres, the Headquarters of the RBG and the Hamilton Conservation Authority, The John Sopinka Court House, and Mohawk College.
A painting depicting the Madawaska River was purchased by the Royal Canadian Mint to serve as the design for their coin celebrating the legacy of Algonquin Park.
Having served as board member, instructor, art/environment activist, juror, juried show organizer for various arts organizations, he is currently serving on the Council of Governors, Art Gallery of Hamilton.
