About This Work
“On a crisp fall day I love the way the purples and golds complement each other against a grey sky. That small window of blue emerges to remind us that sunny days are not behind us, but that nature's symphony of colour is about to begin.”
Biography
Giulia Morosin graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University. Her work is currently represented by PWD Gallery, Wesltland Gallery and Summer and Grace Gallery. Giulia opened her first studio in 2000, offering art instruction to students of all ages. Her practice as an acrylic painter has allowed her the opportunity to share her passion for colour and expression through teaching, mentoring and guiding students, and painting over 30 murals to brighten up school hallways, libraries, gymnasiums, and classrooms in schools throughout the GTA.
Artist Statement
As an avid walker and hiker, my love of the Canadian landscape provides the inspiration needed to create bold and bright acrylic paintings. Finding shapes and layers of colour within the landscape are what bring my paintings to life. The ever-changing Canadian seasons allow for experimentation in movement and expression while capturing the beauty of the land.
