About This Work
“There is nothing in my country that is comparable to the Georgian Bay. My first trip there was a true discovery and an amazement. The light was so bright that day and the colour so perfect that I just had to lay it down on a canvas to give my French touch to this amazing place.”
Biography
Eric Ranveau was born in 1966 in Chateauneuf-sur-Charente near the wine district of Cognac, France and raised in Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire. He studied and graduated Fine Arts in Angouleme and at the National Art School of Paris, France. His career as an artist started in 1989; his unique style attracted the public eye and gave him the opportunity to sell in France, Canada, Germany and Sweden. Eric left Cognac in 2006, came to Canada to be with his Canadian wife and to continue his art career in Hamilton, Ontario. His unique work was immediately accepted and promoted by the arts establishment, which gave him the opportunity to be approached by galleries in Canada, USA, Europe and Asia.
His subject matter encompasses still life, street scenes and impressive landscapes with a twist. Eric paints and draws in fluid wet acrylics creating colour, line, design and texture simultaneously throughout his work. The final effect makes his work radiate.
