About This Piece
There is a common theme that weaves through my abstracts. I have always been fascinated with astronomy, the stars and the movements of celestial objects. Since childhood, I have looked up into the night sky and tried to connect the circle shapes with dots and lines. Among the chaos, there is order in the universe. In my mind, I am always envisioning that movement in space and just letting my mark-making lead the way. That feeling of life hurtling past, forward, and beyond seems to always show up in my work. “Freedom On the Heights” is a portrayal of that movement ascending higher and higher and avoiding obstacles along the way.
