About This Piece
There is a common theme that weaves through my abstracts. I have always been fascinated with astronomy, the stars and the movements of celestial objects. Since childhood, I have looked up into the night sky and tried to connect the circle shapes with dots and lines. Among the chaos, there is order in the universe. In my mind, I am always envisioning that movement in space and just letting my mark-making lead the way. That feeling of life hurtling past, forward, and beyond seems to always show up in my work. “Freedom On the Heights” is a portrayal of that movement ascending higher and higher and avoiding obstacles along the way.

Born in Hamilton, Tina Concetta Revie has been developing her artistic talent since childhood. Her formal training has included Dundas Valley School of Art where she completed her Certificate Level in 2010. Tina resides in Branchton, Ontario (located outside of Cambridge), where she has her studio and gallery. Tina has won awards and commissions from prominent galleries and businesses like Southampton Art Gallery, The City of Walkerton, Owen Sound Banner Project, 3M Canada, and McMaster University, to name a few. Tina has shown her work in several solo and group shows over the past 20 years. Over the years she was active with the Saugeen Artists Guild, Burlington Arts Centre, and WAAH.
