About This Piece
Situated just outside of Owen Sound, Ingliss Falls is certainly the most spectacular and most visited falls north of Niagara – a real wedding cake. There are hundreds of waterfalls along the Bruce Trail and this area is a favourite of enthusiasts like me. It plunges 18 metres into a very deep valley. I was fortunate enough to get down there pre-COVID and hence this vantage point of the grand old lady is a rare one. My labyrinth lines work particularly well here depicting the movement of the water and even the rock escarpment it tumbles over. Cool tones make it a peaceful painting despite its obvious energy.
