About This Piece
Excited sounds float on the breeze.
The birds are gathered in the trees.
With season change comes a rallying cry,
It's time to leave, it's time to fly.
So sing it loud and sing it strong
The migrant's chorus, the freedom song.

As a landscape painter, I respectfully acknowledge that the land upon which I work is the traditional and treaty territory of many Indigenous Nations and communities. I am grateful to the people, current and historic, for their stewardship of this beautiful land.

The past 15 years of painting and studying the landscape of Southern Ontario have given me a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of the natural world and a respect for all the elements that make it work. I witness the changes in the environment, both subtle and dynamic, from season to season throughout the year.

In my paintings, I aspire to capture the energy of these changes and convey the spirit and poetry of place.
