About This Piece
'Forest Creek' is inspired by an idyllic scene along the Niagara Escarpment. Cedar trees elegantly lean into the creek bed while mossy rocks tumble down, creating a familiar scene found while hiking along the Bruce Trail. In my Woodlands & Waterways series, I continue to explore the symbiotic harmony of new growth, decay and ancient formations that co-exist simultaneously in the Carolinian Forest around my home.

Biography
Jennifer Elliotson is a contemporary Canadian Landscape Artist living and working from her home studio in Niagara’s Wine Country.

Forging her own creative path, she draws on her decades of design and colour expertise to inform her work. The result is a distinctly recognizable style that dances between the tension of fine details and broad, loose brushstrokes. Focusing on the relationship between vibrant colour and light, her paintings are simultaneously calm and inviting, yet lively and expressive!

Inspired by the vast Canadian landscape, hiking in her native Carolinian woodlands and kayaking local waterways, it’s her hope to not only bring a narrative to life with colour and imagination, but for you to be able to find yourself within it.
