About This Piece
The title of this piece is representative of its inception during my extensive travels throughout Morocco in 2023. Tangier in particular sank deeply into my bones. The dualities of culture both past and present infused my drawings and paintings as I retraced the steps of artists before me.

“The light of Tangier is mellow and the city is a painter's paradise”
—Henri Matisse, Tangier, Morocco 1912-1913
